Disclosures & Affiliate Policy
How we make money, what's sponsored, and how we keep recommendations independent.
Affiliate relationships
MBA Guidance participates in affiliate programs with companies that serve MBA applicants. When you click certain links on this site and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. These are the programs we currently partner with:
- Magoosh (GMAT, GRE prep) via Impact
- Manhattan Prep (GMAT, GRE prep) via Impact
- Princeton Review (GMAT, GRE prep) via Impact
- Target Test Prep (GMAT prep) via direct partnership
- MPOWER Financing (international MBA loans) via referral program
- Prodigy Finance (international MBA loans) via referral program
- Sallie Mae (US graduate loans) via CJ Affiliate
How affiliate revenue affects our recommendations
It doesn't. Our school rankings, comparisons, and editorial verdicts are written before any consideration of affiliate relationships. We rank schools by academic quality, career outcomes, and selectivity. We rank test prep options by quality and value. Affiliate commissions don't move ratings or alter our verdicts.
The simple rule: we'd rather earn $0 in commissions than recommend a product we don't believe in. The site's value depends on applicants trusting our recommendations. Burning that trust for a few hundred dollars in commissions would be self-defeating.
If we recommend a product or service that we earn a commission from, we'll make that relationship clear in the surrounding content or via a footnote near the link.
Paid services we offer directly
We sell essay review services through https://mbaguidance.com/tools/essay-review/. Pricing ranges from $149 to $899 depending on tier. This is a service offered directly by MBA Guidance, not an affiliate relationship.
Our free tools (School Recommender, Admit Predictor, ROI Calculator, GMAT Target Score) are completely free and don't gate functionality behind paywalls beyond the optional email capture for the recommender and predictor.
Newsletter and email
The MBA Insider newsletter is free. Subscribers may receive occasional sponsored sections clearly labeled as such. We don't sell or rent the email list to third parties. Unsubscribe links work in every email.
Editorial independence
All school profiles, rankings, comparisons, and guides are written by MBA Guidance editorial staff. No school, test prep company, or financial services firm has paid for placement, ratings, or editorial coverage on this site. If that ever changes, we'll disclose it in the relevant content and mark the page accordingly.
FTC compliance
This site complies with the Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials. Material connections (affiliate relationships, sponsorships, gifts received) are disclosed near the relevant content. Disclosures are designed to be clear and conspicuous, not buried in legalese.
